There are three options depending on the specific case, whether he wants an LZ initial and how long he is staying in Bulgaria.
A foreign radio amateur can make radio connections from Bulgaria without submitting an application to the CRC and wishes to use his own initial, under the following conditions:
- has CEPT eligibility in accordance with CERT Recommendation T/R 61-01;
- resides temporarily on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for up to three months;
- acquaints with and complies with the “Rules for the Use of Radio Frequency Spectrum for Radio Equipment by the Amateur Radio Service”
In doing so, he uses his own initial under the rules of the “Rules for the Use of Radio Frequency Spectrum for Radio Equipment by the Amateur Radio Service”
A radio amateur – a foreigner with the status of a temporary resident in the Republic of Bulgaria, who does not have a CEPT, submits an application to the CRC for granting the use of an identification mark, to which he attaches:
- translated into Bulgarian and legalized document for radio amateur class;
- translated into Bulgarian and legalized national radio amateur license;
- certified by the applicant a copy of a document certifying his residence in the Republic of Bulgaria.
In this case, the KRS grants him an initial, but for no more than a year.
A radio amateur – a foreigner residing in the Republic of Bulgaria for a period greater than one year, submits an application to the CRC for the provision of an identification mark, to which he attaches:
- translated into Bulgarian and legalized document for radio amateur class;
- translated into Bulgarian and legalized national radio amateur license;
- certified by the applicant a copy of a document certifying his residence in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Provided that a foreign radio amateur possesses a harmonized radio amateur license (HAREC) in accordance with Recommendation T/R 61-02 of the CEPT, copies of the HAREC document and the document certifying his residence in the Republic of Bulgaria, certified by the applicant, shall be attached to the application in the CRC.
