AMTOR stands for “AMateur Teleprinting Over Radio”. The advantage of this mode is the additional error correction. Its commercial variant is called SITOR.

Features in AMTOR
AMTOR operation follows procedures analogous to RTTY.
The frequency for AMTOR activity on the 80m range is 3637.5 kHz. According to the frequency plan, it coincides with a section favored for SSB competitions. The frequency plan has priority and if there are SSB competitions in this frequency range, AMTOR fans should be aware of this and wait for their completion before operating or selecting another suitable range.
